Pozdrav iz Banjaluke!

It’s almost certain that before Turkish invasion there was a town with its surrounding area on the territory of Gornji Šeher bearing the name of Banjaluka. There was a road passing through the region, built by the Romans, which was described in some historical source materials such as Antonin’s manual and Pojtinger’s map.
Medieval Banjaluka, located in the region where Gornji Šeher is today, the settlement which was there when the Turks conquered Jajačka Banovina in 1528, started to develop on the foundation of oriental cultural tradition. As the seat of Bosnian sanjac was moved from Sarajevo to Banjaluka in 1553, the settlement was increasingly developing.
