In the old picture postcards of the town presented in this book, the transformation of appearance of the streets and the whole town in the period from the end of 19th century until the mid of 20th century can be clearly seen.
        Banjaluka has always, through all the periods, had specific town characteristics attributed to it by its inhabitants and builders through their activities. In this sense, this book is a kind of a time machine, which confirms that Banjaluka town nucleus is neither an ordinary part of the town, nor a museum space, but a living centre, a sediment tissue which has many century cultural, economic, educational, commercial and other continuity.
